“For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country.” — President-Elect Donald J. Trump
Mr. Donald J. Trump

Dear President-Elect Trump,
Last night in your acceptance speech, you said you wanted to reach out to those who didn’t support you. I am one of those people. The day before the election I wrote extensively regarding how I felt about you and your opponent, Secretary Clinton. Today, those expressions still hold true; my opinion has not changed. However, one of you was going to be elected, and surprisingly, that person was you. Congratulations on beating the odds and proving so many people, including myself, wrong.
Now that you are going to be this nation’s 45th President, I am willing to give you a chance to once again prove me wrong regarding all of the things I said about you. I have already started praying for you, your future administration, and the incredible burden ahead of you. I pray that someone, other than that heretic Paula White, points you to the true Christ. I am willing to unite behind you in hopes that come 2020, you actually earn my vote.
I must admit, I’m a little skeptical of your presidency. I’m sure that’s not a surprise to anyone who knows me. Will you keep the promises you made to the voters, or will you make deals with the establishment politicians that will break these promises? I hope it’s the former and not the latter. After all, you’re known to be the best deal maker the world has ever seen. I pray that you will humble yourself before the Almighty and beg for His wisdom. Last night’s speech was the first time in my life I saw your humility, and it gave me just a sliver of hope.
You said you are reaching out to us (your non-supporters) for our guidance so that we can work together. So all the way from beautiful north Idaho, here’s my list, in no particular order, on how we can do that.
Secure Our Border
This was the staple of your campaign. You wavered here and there on the specifics, but securing our border was your ultimate promise. I believe your exact words were, “We’re gonna build a wall on the southern border and Mexico’s gonna pay for it.” This was a catchy tagline during the campaign, almost as good as Make America Great Again. But that’s not surprising coming from a master brander such as yourself. As much as I would love to see Mexico pay for our wall, I would much rather see it actually built, regardless who pays for it. It’s that important. I would like to see our borders secure by any means necessary, provided that they are the best means. Immigration needs reformed. Current immigration laws need enforced.
Nominate Originalists to the Courts
You promised to nominate jurists like the late Justice Antonin Scalia to fill his seat on the Supreme Court. In fact, you released a list of 21 nominees that you would consider for this position. I hope you don’t fold like a cheap suit when it comes to the courts. The left isn’t going to like it whatsoever; it’s a sacred cow to them, and they will fight. I hope you expend as much political capital on nominating these judges that you have, and stare down these liberals without blinking. Work with the Senate to get as many constitution-believing judges confirmed as you can these next 4 years. Many, many voters supported you solely for this reason. Don’t let them down.
Repeal Every Last Word of Obamacare
Another one of your many promises to the people. This travesty has hurt millions upon millions of Americans the day it was implemented. They lost their insurance, their doctor, their right to choose. This bastardization of the Constitution is the pinnacle of Obama’s legacy. Tear. It. Down. Work with brilliant minds in and out of Congress who have been fighting this travesty from the beginning. Don’t cave. Millions of hurting Americans are counting on your promises to fix our healthcare system. Furthermore, clean house at the VA. Our vets deserve the best healthcare we can provide, and they are getting anything but. It’s time to put our veterans first (another one of your promises), and take care of those who have served this great country.
Rescind Every Executive Order Given Under President Obama
Use your “pen and phone” to rescind every unconstitutional executive order that our current lawless President has warranted. This has become one of my greatest concerns of your presidency, that you would follow in Obama’s footsteps and bypass Congress with your pen and phone. Being President of the United States is not like being a CEO of a company. Follow the Constitution. Lawfully execute the powers within your branch of Government and nothing more. It’s difficult to do, the last few Presidents have shown us that. Be better.
It’s the Economy, Stupid
I’m no economist, but I know a few simple rules of thumb to help bring prosperity back to this country. Lowering the business tax from 35% to 15% is a great start. Stop saying the “rich should pay their fair share” is another. Giving the middle class more tax breaks is crucial. Repealing Dodd-Frank and the Death Tax would also help. You’re a businessman. Surely you have brilliant financial minds to help get this country’s finances in order. The debt has grown over $6.4 trillion under Obama. This has got to change. Families can’t spend more than they bring in; neither should our country. Most families budget their money and try to live within their means; so should the United States of America.
Rebuild Our Military
Under President Barack Hussein Obama, our military has degraded. This is no shock or unknown fact, everyone knows that our muslim-apologist President knowingly has weakened our defenses against foreign enemies. Morale has plummeted. Obama cared more about the LGBTQ community than he did our vets and military. Obama cared more about transgenders using the bathroom of their choice than he cared about protecting American assets abroad. It’s time to remind Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea who the world’s superpower is; not to be the world’s police, but as Ronald Reagan put it, because of its strength, and ability and dedication, our military will not be called upon to fight, for no one will dare to provoke it.
President-Elect Trump, you said you wanted to work together. This is a great place to start. I along with countless others will continue to lift you, your administration, and this country in prayer. Stay true to your word, honor your commitments, put God first in your life, and with His help, perhaps you will make America great again.
