Even though they will not admit it, the liberals, the left, the progressives, have lost this battle. The election of Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, the nationwide dismissal of liberal politicians and leftist policies in the 2016 election made something very clear – the left’s message of fear was rejected in a spectacular fashion.
And while we remain cautiously optimistic, we know that the war is far from over. The left has gone into overdrive with their scare tactics, fake news, and wildly irresponsible rhetoric. Since their positions, policies, and persons were rejected, the only card they have left to play is the “Fear Card”.
How many stories have you seen of college students nearly losing their minds over Trump’s election? They are so scared out of their wits they cannot even function and must get to their “safe spaces” to see a counselor or psychologist for help.
Stop and ask yourself, why are they so scared? Perhaps it has something to do with leftist celebrities, liberal politicians, and the mainstream media screaming from the rooftops about how evil and dastardly Trump is.
The non-stop mantra has been “Trump is a racist, bigot, homophobe. He hates women, all non-white people, and gays.” Any person who truly fit that description would be terrifying. I’ve made it clear that I am no fan of Trump. However, these lies designed specifically to stir up terror are both irresponsible and blatantly false.
As stated before on Paineful Truth, a president should never have that much power that one election could affect your life so much to make you that scared. But thanks to the liberal left, that’s how many people feel, despite the facts of the matter.
Remember the story of the Muslim girl on a train in New York who was harassed by Trump supporters? Turns out it was completely false and made up. Yet the media was happy to report it without doing their due diligence to insure accuracy.
Reports and stories of people (gay, Muslim, immigrant, etc.) who say after Trump’s election they are more afraid than they’ve ever been are all over the place. Again, why is that? Why are people so afraid of Trump?
Because it is the left’s only card left to play. So they make up stories, or run with stories of questionable veracity in order to make people afraid. It truly is a travesty of journalism.
Now, you may be wondering what all this has to do with Christmas. The connection is actually quite simple.
Whether you are a Christian or not, the verse above it most likely familiar to you, even if you only remember it from “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. If you read through the rest of the account of Jesus’ birth in the Bible, you’ll find the phrase “fear not” repeated multiple times.
One of the left’s heroes once said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Irrational fear is crippling, it is illogical, it is what holds us back. Fear has become the main tactic of the left to accomplish their goals. And it has got to stop.
Let me just note, that not all fear is bad. Standing on the very edge of a thousand foot cliff, we should all have some fear, it’s what keeps us alive. However, if properly controlled, this is a rational fear. It does not debilitate, but instead prompts us to wise action.
What the left is pushing, however, is an irrational fear. How do you conquer illogical, irrational fear? The answer is the truth.
Remember back to younger days, when, for instance, going down into the basement was terrifying. It was dark and cold, your mind filled every corner with an unknown monster. But then, when the light was turned on, the truth was revealed and suddenly, it wasn’t scary anymore.
The lies about Trump being a racist, bigot, and homophobe create an irrational fear that can only be cured with the truth. Irrational fear can only survive when the truth is ignored. Even though I may disagree with his approach at times, the truth about Trump is that he is a not-very-conservative businessman who loves America and, I believe, genuinely wants what is best for this country.
The Truth Will Set You Free
The angel told the shepherds not to fear. The reason fear was banished was because the Truth had come to live among us. The Truth had taken on the form of a baby boy, humbly born in a stable in Bethlehem. He would go on to die on a cross, conquering sin, fear, and even death itself.
The Truth has come to set us free from fear. Merry Christmas, everyone.
